Day 1 — Arrival in Marrakech

Your Imperial Cities of Morocco & Agadir Tour begins with a warm and professional استقبال at Marrakech Menara Airport. Upon arrival, your private driver and guide will welcome you and escort you to your luxury riad located in the heart of the historic Medina. The rest of the day is dedicated to relaxation after your journey.

If your arrival time permits, you may enjoy a gentle introduction to Marrakech with a visit to the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where storytellers, musicians, and traditional food vendors create a unique cultural atmosphere. As evening falls, return to your riad to enjoy a refined Moroccan dinner in an elegant setting.

Day 2 — Marrakech to Ouarzazate via the High Atlas Mountains

After breakfast, your journey continues across the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering breathtaking panoramic views of valleys, villages, and terraced hillsides. This scenic drive is one of Morocco’s most memorable routes.

You will visit the historic Telouet Kasbah, once the residence of the powerful Glaoui family, before continuing toward the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous fortified village and a renowned film location.

Following lunch near the kasbah, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert.” After check-in at your boutique riad, enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening.

Day 3 — Ouarzazate to M’Hamid via the Draa Valley

Today’s journey leads you through the spectacular Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest palm oasis, where thousands of date palms stretch across the landscape. The road winds through traditional Berber villages and ancient kasbahs, offering an authentic glimpse into southern Moroccan life.

You will stop in Zagora for lunch before visiting a local pottery cooperative where artisans preserve centuries-old techniques. By late afternoon, you will arrive in M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the vast Sahara Desert begins.

Day 4 — Camel Trek from M’Hamid to Sidi Naji

After breakfast, the Sahara experience truly begins. Accompanied by experienced desert guides, you will embark on a camel trek across open desert landscapes toward the dunes of Sidi Naji. The peaceful rhythm of the journey allows you to fully absorb the silence and beauty of the Sahara.

A traditional lunch will be served under tamarisk trees, followed by Moroccan tea prepared by your guides. Continuing through the dunes, you will reach your wild desert camp in the late afternoon. As the sun sets over the golden sand, the desert transforms into a spectacular landscape of color and light.

Dinner will be served around a campfire beneath a sky filled with stars.

Day 5 — Sidi Naji to Erg Zahar

After sunrise and breakfast in the desert, the trek continues deeper into the Sahara toward Erg Zahar, known as the “singing dunes.” These impressive dunes are among the highest in Morocco and offer extraordinary panoramic views.

The journey unfolds at a relaxed pace, allowing time to appreciate the untouched beauty of the desert. Upon arrival, camp will be prepared near the dunes. In the late afternoon, you will climb one of the towering dunes to watch the sunset over the Sahara — a truly unforgettable moment.

Day 6 — Erg Zahar to Erg Sedra

Following breakfast, the expedition continues across the dry basin of the ancient Draa River. Along the way, you will visit the abandoned settlement of Erg Smar, where families once lived and cultivated the land. This visit offers a fascinating insight into the history of desert communities.

After lunch in the shade of tamarisk trees near a traditional well, the journey continues toward the beautiful dunes of Erg Sedra, known for their pristine sand and peaceful surroundings. In the evening, your guides will prepare traditional sand-bread while dinner cooks over the fire.

Day 7 — Erg Sedra to Erg Chegaga

The morning begins with a short trek across the dunes before meeting your 4×4 vehicle. From here, you travel across the vast desert plateau toward Erg Chegaga, the largest dune system in Morocco.

Upon arrival at your luxury Sahara camp, you will enjoy modern comfort in the heart of the desert, including private tents, hot showers, and a gourmet Moroccan dinner. Traditional Berber music around the fire completes this extraordinary evening.

Day 8 — Erg Chegaga to Taroudant

After breakfast, you will cross the desert terrain of the Iriki region, including the dry Lake Iriki, once an important caravan route. The journey continues toward Taznakht, a town famous for Berber carpets, where you will stop for lunch and visit a local cooperative.

In the afternoon, arrival in Taroudant, a historic walled city often called “Little Marrakech” for its red ramparts and lively souks. After check-in at your riad, enjoy dinner and a peaceful evening.

Day 9 — Taroudant to Essaouira via Agadir

Today you travel toward the Atlantic coast, stopping first in Agadir to enjoy the ocean views and lunch by the beach. The journey then continues north to Essaouira, a charming coastal city known for its Portuguese architecture, artistic atmosphere, and historic Medina.

You may explore the old port, walk along the ramparts, and enjoy the relaxed coastal ambiance.
